Privacy Policy

Game: I Only Moved My Mouse · Studio: Missroot · Effective: September 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Missroot (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you play I Only Moved My Mouse (the “Game”) on Steam. The short version is that we do not handle any. The Game plays entirely offline, keeps your progress in one file on your own machine, has no account, no sign-in, and no way of sending anything to us. The rest of this page spells that out.

1. Summary

2. What stays on your device

The Game writes one file to your own machine, and we do not see any of it:

The “last seen” time is a clock reading taken from your own machine when the Game saves. It exists only so the next launch can work out how long the blade kept cutting while you were away. It is compared on your machine and never leaves it.

If you enable Steam Cloud, Valve may copy save.json between your machines. That copy is between you and Steam under Valve’s Privacy Policy; it does not pass through us.

3. What we never collect

4. Who else is involved

We are based in South Korea. Because the Game sends us nothing, no data about you is transferred to us or stored on our behalf anywhere. The companies that do handle something, and nobody else:

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete personal information a company holds about you, and — in California — to know what is collected and to not be discriminated against for asking. We hold nothing, so every such request has the same answer: there is no record to return, correct, or erase. If you write to us anyway (section 9), the email you send is the only personal information we will ever have from you, and we keep it only as long as it takes to reply. If you are in the EEA or the UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Korea, to the Personal Information Protection Commission.

6. Deleting your data

There is nothing on our side to delete. On your machine, delete the Game’s save folder (or uninstall the Game) to remove local progress — the paths are listed on the support page. If Steam Cloud is on for the Game, turn it off first, or Steam may put the file back.

7. Children

The Game is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, or under the higher age your own country sets — as much as 16 in parts of the EEA. It is sold only through Steam, whose Subscriber Agreement requires account holders to be at least 13. Since the Game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

8. Changes to this policy

If a future version adds anything that touches your data — cloud saves of our own, leaderboards, purchases, analytics, or Steam features that identify you — we will update this page with a new effective date before that version ships, and say so in the patch notes.
